SC MIRECC Welcomes New MIDAS Director
By Dr. Rebecca Raciborski
Dr. Raciborski is a health economist and the Associate Director of the Center for Mental Health Outcomes Research (CeMHOR), a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Health Services Research Center of Innovation. Dr. Raciborski specializes in causal inference econometric methods for analysis of real-world health data, collection and analysis of health survey data, and optimization of statistical code. She is an active collaborator on several VA-funded projects to assess the cost and cost-effectiveness of evidence-based practices for mental health care and implementation strategies. Her current research focuses on opioid use disorder, suicide prevention, and economic analyses of implementing evidence-based practices for treatment of mental health needs. She is particularly interested in the role that geography, poverty, and other forms of disadvantage play in determining health outcomes.
In the role of MIRECC Implementation, Design and Analysis Support (MIDAS) Director, Dr. Raciborski will actively collaborate with SC MIRECC leadership, investigators, MIDAS consultants, and VA partners to identify methodological needs and then prioritize and align support to meet these needs. She is focused in her first year on increasing SC MIRECC investigators' knowledge about and use of MIDAS's services to support MIRECC pilots and applications for new funding. With an eye on identifying gaps and demonstrating impact, Dr. Raciborski will emphasize the value of the MIDAS team in supporting the SC MIRECC across all phases of a project, from initial conceptualization and design to manuscript writing and dissemination. Learn more about MIDAS at our research webpage.
