Michele Crisafulli, PhD
Education and Implementation Specialist
Biography: Michele Crisafulli joined the CIH team in May 2022 as an Education and Implementation Specialist in the Education and Implementation core. She has been with VHA since 2012. Prior to joining the team at CIH, she spent 5 years as a staff psychologist in primary care mental health integration (PCMHI) at the Baltimore VAMC and Ft. Detrick CBOC. During this time, she served as facility lead for the PCMHI national competency training, spearheaded multiple program development and improvement initiatives, supervised pre- and post-doctoral trainees, and taught as adjunct faculty at the University of Baltimore and University of Maryland School of Medicine. She received her PhD in Human Services Psychology with concentrations in clinical and community/applied social psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and completed her predoctoral internship at the VA Maryland Healthcare System. In addition to integrated care, she also has special interests in behavioral health stigma, program development and implementation, substance use disorders, chronic pain, and mindfulness-based interventions.
