Biography
Biography: Dr. Gass is a second year Psychology Fellow with the VA Advanced Fellowship in Mental Illness Research and Treatment program at the VISN 2 Center for Integrated Healthcare (CIH). Prior to joining CIH, she earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University at Buffalo, SUNY and completed an American Psychological Association accredited pre-doctoral psychology internship at the Ann
Arbor VA.
Research Interests: Dr. Gass’s research interest include substance abuse, particularly tobacco and alcohol use, in Veterans with co-occurring health conditions. She was trained primarily in tobacco research, with specific interests in craving, ecological momentary assessment, assessment of tobacco use, and behavioral economics. Dr. Gass is also interested in addictions treatment research, particularly
treatment for tobacco/alcohol abuse in multimorbid primary care Veterans.
She is developing a treatment to help Veterans with cardiovascular conditions
quit smoking and drinking.
