Biography
Biography: Dr. Margaret (Peg) Dundon is the National Program Manager for Health Behavior at the VA’s National Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (NCP), under the Office of Patient Care Services in VA Central Office. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling, School, and Educational Psychology at SUNY Buffalo. Prior to this position, Dr. Dundon served as Director of Clinical Operations for the Center for Integrated Healthcare, following many years of clinical work as an integrated primary care behavioral health provider. She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), and devotes much of her effort to training and coaching staff across the VHA system, particularly Health Behavior Coordinators, in motivational interviewing and clinician coaching skills.
Research Interests: Dr. Dundon’s research is focused on health behavior change, including weight management, tobacco cessation, problem-solving training, and implementing brief interventions for behavior change. She is particularly interested in the communication styles of patient-clinician interactions in support of successful behavior change for optimal health.
