The guide is not intended to replace professional mental health advice. In fact, it may be best to use this along with professional support if you or your child is struggling with how to talk about this difficult subject.

These functional playing cards put simple coping skills and critical phone numbers directly into your hands. Each card has a different message, including positive affirmations (“I am worth it.”), grounding techniques (“Describe 3 things you can see right now.”), and useful phone numbers (e.g., the Veterans Crisis Line, the Women Veterans Call Center).
