AboutCombining backgrounds in Clinical Psychology and Public Health (Communication and Education) with my experience as a U.S. Army Special Operations Combat Veteran, my projects focus on developing, disseminating, and evaluating national training and education programs. I work with VA leadership to implement national trainings designed to prevent and reduce suicide among Veterans. My efforts aim to increase knowledge, skills, and attitudes around Veteran identity to a variety of audiences. I am the COE-SP Advisor for our Upstate New York Veteran Research Engagement Board (VREB) which promotes innovative, Veteran-centered research informed by Veteran involvement that anticipates and addresses the needs of all Veterans. Through its education and training efforts, the COE-SP translates leading-edge suicide prevention findings into applied practice across a variety of Veteran-focused settings. Our Education Division develops and disseminates training programs that engage learners through a variety of modalities, including face-to-face education programs, innovative web-based trainings and webinars. |
