“Measurement-Based Care (MBC): Using Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) to Enhance Mental Health Care” Wednesday, March 30, 2022 12:00pm-4:30pm EST (virtual via Adobe Connect) |
|
Measurement based care (MBC) in mental health (MH) engages Veterans in their health care, provides valuable information on treatment progress and improves patient outcomes. MBC in MH is a priority for the Office Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (OMHSP), required by policy in several program areas, and is a Joint Commission requirement for programs accredited under Behavioral Health standards. This training is designed to provide VA MH providers with the knowledge they need to effectively deliver MBC as part of routine clinical care. This training is for both new and experienced MBC users. Topics presented will include the benefits of practicing MBC for both Veterans and providers, the clinical practice of MBC, implementing MBC within a clinic or facility and creating a culture of MBC, and understanding informatics tools available to support MBC. Clinical case examples and breakout groups based on individuals’ roles in MBC will be included to illustrate real world application of MBC. This program is a collaborative effort of the VISN 4 Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC), VA Employee Education System (EES), and OMHSP Measurement Based Care in Mental Health Initiative, Northeast Program Evaluation Center (NEPEC). Registration information will be available in the near future. Continuing Education Credit will be available. Please feel free to contact Sara Chapman at sara.chapman@va.gov with questions. |
