Daniel Reis, PhD (Clinical Psychologist)

Dr. Reis is a Clinical Research Psychologist at the VA Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC) for Suicide Prevention and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. His work focuses on the role of circadian disruption in sleep and mood disorders and the personalization of mental health therapies using behavioral and physiological data from wearable sensors.
Nazanin Bahraini, PhD (Clinical Psychologist)

Dr. Bahraini is the Acting Director at the VA Rocky Mountain MIRECC for Suicide Prevention and an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Psychiatry at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. Her work focuses on designing and evaluating system-level strategies to improve implementation of evidence-based practices in suicide prevention. Her clinical research interests include application of acceptance and commitment therapy for suicide prevention and understanding the impact of social determinants of health on suicide risk.
Lisa Brenner, PhD (Clinical Psychologist)

Dr. Brenner is a Board-Certified Rehabilitation Psychologist and a Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), Psychiatry, and Neurology at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. She is also Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Brenner is a Past President of Division 22 (Rehabilitation Psychology) of the American Psychological Association (APA) and an APA Fellow. She serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation. Her primary area of research interest is traumatic brain injury, co-morbid psychiatric disorders, and negative psychiatric outcomes, including suicide. Dr. Brenner has numerous peer-reviewed publications, participates on national advisory boards, and has recently co-authored a book titled: Suicide Prevention After Neurodisability: An Evidence-Informed Approach.
Jeri Forster, PhD (Biostatistician)

Dr. Forster is a biostatistician, the Director of the Data and Statistical Core (DASC) in the VA Rocky Mountain MIRECC for Suicide Prevention, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Forster serves on the Board of Governors for the VA/DoD Mortality Data Repository and on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation. Her primary areas of research collaboration include suicide, traumatic brain injury, co-morbid psychiatric disorders, physical therapy for older and medically complex individuals.
Teodor Postolache, MD (Clinician Investigator)

Dr. Postolache is a Clinical Investigator with the VA Rocky Mountain MIRECC for Suicide Prevention, the Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 5 MIRECC, and a professor of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Trained in chronobiology at the Section of Biological Rhythms of National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Bethesda, Maryland, he collaborated on multiple projects focused on sleep and circadian rhythms and was the Principal investigator (PI) on several federal grants on seasonal rhythms and light treatment. His research is focused on the modifiable environmental factors in the macroenvironment involved in mood and behavioral regulation and dysregulation contributing to suicidal behavior. Clinically, he has treated many individuals with shift work, jet lag vulnerability, circadian rhythm sleep disorders, and seasonal depression. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Investigator Award from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
