We held a SC MIRECC Stakeholder Forum (formerly, the external advisory board) on October 17, 2019 to present our work to group members and solicit feedback on areas for growth, suggestions for partnerships, and better dissemination of our work.

Stakeholders included:

  • Dr. Clifford Smith, Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention
  • Dr. Nazanin Bahraini, VISN 19 Rocky Mountain MIRECC
  • Dr. John Fairbank, VISN 6 Mid-Atlantic MIRECC
  • Dr. John Fortney, Virtual Specialty Care QUERI Program
  • Dr. Terry Keane, National Center for PTSD

Guests included Dr. Steve Holliday, VISN 17 Mental Health Product Line, and Dr. Dinesh Mittal, VISN 16 Mental Health Product Line.

We were very pleased with the suggestions provided and the recognition of the impact that SC MIRECC research, research training, clinical demonstration projects, and education activities are having on care for Veterans.

We are also proud of the efforts led by the SC MIRECC Associate and Assistant Directors, Drs. Ali Asghar-Ali, Michael Cucciare, Ellen Fischer, Jeffrey Pyne, and Tracey Smith, as well as the many, many investigators whose work was presented at this meeting.
