Common Humanity: A Rainbow Among the Storm of Stigma

December 10, 2024 | 1 - 2PM EST / 10 - 11AM PST

Katie Tise, LCSW

Local Recovery Coordinator, Durham VA Healthcare System

Common Humanity: A Rainbow Among the Storm of Stigma is a learning opportunity to define stigma, it’s subtypes of internalized and external, it’s origins and key facts. We will explore the common deleterious effects of stigma as a global driver of disease that public health researchers have been able to glean through rigorous meta data analysis from around the world. We will shift to a micro level look at what research has found to be common negative impacts of stigma on individuals, how to measure these effects and what helping professionals can do to ease stigma.

UPCOMING WEBINARS

Our 2025 webinar schedule will be published soon. All of our webinars are from 1 PM - 2 PM EST | 10 AM - 11 AM PST. Registration information will be sent out about a month ahead of the scheduled webinar.
