OUR NEXT WEBINAR
The Armory Project: Lessons and Findings from a Community- Partnered Approach to Preventing Firearm Suicides
June 11, 2024 | 1 - 2PM EST / 10 - 11AM PST
Gala True, PhD
The Armory Project (TAP), a VA-funded, multi-year, community-partnered research project, has brought together VA researchers and suicide prevention staff with individual firearm owners, firearm retailers and ranges, firearm instructors and others to develop and pilot culturally-acceptable LMS messaging and interventions in Louisiana. While TAP originally focused on preventing Veteran firearm suicides, the work has grown to encompass firearm suicide prevention more broadly, including addressing risk for caregivers. This presentation will describe lessons-learned and findings from several TAP pilot studies that are relevant to health care providers, peer support specialists, and others working within and outside of VA.
