Drs. Ali Abbas Asghar-Ali and Jenn Bryan Awarded VA OMHSP Clinical Demonstration Project
Drs. Asghar-Ali and Bryan have a new project funded through the VA Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, Suicide Prevention Program. The title of this project is “Veterans as Caring Buddies: Empowering Veterans to have conversations with Veteran buddies about lethal means safety as a community approach to suicide prevention.” It will develop educational materials (e.g., guide, videos) that will include foundational information on suicide and lethal means safety, identifying when a Veteran may be at risk for suicide and how to have a conversation about lethal means safety. It also incorporates Veteran feedback from the early stages of development so that the educational materials will be Veteran-centric.
