Amanda K. Falcón, Ph.D.
Dr. Amanda K. Falcón is a Staff Psychologist within the Veterans Mental Health and Addiction Program at VA Bedford Healthcare System. A graduate of the University of Vermont, she completed her doctoral internship with the United States Bureau of Prisons at a Federal Medical Center, and she is a former VA Bedford MIRECC fellow. She is primarily interested in the improvement of functioning, recovery, and reintegration among Veterans with a history of legal involvement (e.g., incarceration). Dr. Falcón’s research is focused on employment-related experiences among such Veterans, particularly those with substance use disorders.

Projects & Grants
- Experiences of Stigma among Job-Seeking, Justice-Involved Veterans with Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders (PI)
Supported by MIRECC funding, this project entails assessment of the relationship between a felony conviction and employment-related stigma, particularly among unemployed Veterans managing mental health and substance use disorders. Veterans are interviewed about their experiences with felt, internalized, and anticipated stigma (e.g., during a job-search).
