Veterans and Caregivers
SRM experts only consult with providers on suicide risk management. If you are a Veteran in crisis — or you're concerned about one — free, confidential support is available 24/7. Call the Veterans Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1, send a text message to 838255, or chat online. Find Veteran Suicide Prevention information and resources on the Veterans Crisis Line website.
If you lose someone to suicide, it can be a tremendously painful experience. SRM is available to any provider serving Veterans who would like support surrounding a suicide loss and/or to consult on suicide postvention practices.
The Rocky Mountain MIRECC (in partnership with the VA Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention), has developed a brand-new website for suicide postvention with information, suggestions, and best practices to help individuals process suicide loss. Check it out at https://www.mirecc.va.gov/visn19/postvention.
