  • Traumatic Brain Inury Center of Excellence

    The Military Health System's Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence hosts valuable tools for Veterans as well as providers. The TBI Provider Resources page highlights clinical tools, publications, videos and recommendations.

  • HEADS UP to Healthcare Providers

    The Centers for Disease Control helps provide "timely recognition and appropriate response" for a TBI. Resources encompass diagnostic and assessment tools, as well as free online concussion training.

  • Web Based TBI Training Modules

    The Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation hosts multiple training webinars that offer CEUs for a modest fee. The page also contains information on related clinical topics such as screening, accommodating TBI symptoms, etc.

  • Brain Injury Alliance Colorado (BAIC) Education for Professionals

    Some of the information and statistics featured on the BIAC professionals' page is Colorado specific. However the full collection of materials offers something for providers everywhere, such as animated videos, screening tools, webinars and more.

  • Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA)

    BIAA's site features three portals for Professionals, Individuals living with TBI, and for Caregivers. The Professionals' section focuses on training, certification and networking. There is a fee associated with some resources.

  • Brainline — All About Brain Injury and PTSD

    Brainline delves into all things brain injury and PTSD related with very comprehensive information for people with TBI, professionals, caregivers, and a special area for Military and Veterans. The Professionals area highlights free online courses and research updates.

  • The Center on Brain Injury Research and Training (CBIRT)

    CBIRT "conducts research and training to improve the lives of children and adults with traumatic brain injury (TBI)." The webpages host resources for providers, individuals as well as families. Professionals will find helpful information about screening, treating and managing TBI symptoms via the many recorded webinars.

  • National Resource Center for Traumatic Brain Injury (NRCTBI)

    NRCTBI aims to "provide relevant, practical information for professionals, persons with brain injury and family members." Pages cover topics such as neurological and medical issues, mental health and rehabilitation.

  • Life Improvement Following Traumatic Brain Injury (LIFT)

    Created in collaboration with the University of Washington, LIFT focuses on "educating patients, family members, clinicians, researchers and others about depression after TBI and the most promising and effective treatments."

  • DoD Hearing Center of Excellence

    Hearing loss is a common condition associated with TBI requiring evaluation and treatment. The Hearing Center of Excellence offers portals for Military & Veterans, Patients & Families, and Providers. The Provider section includes info on evaluation & treatment and assistive technology.

  • Vision Center of Excellence

    Eye and vision-related problems are associated with traumatic brain injury. The DoD Vision of Excellence website supports clinicians, service members & Veterans, and families. Clinician section features clinical recommendations and tools for Eye Care and TBI.

  • Community Provider Toolkit

    This site was designed and informed by VA clinicians and staff at the National Center for PTSD and Office of Mental Health Services. On the website is a collection of key tools for working with Veterans; plus some new tools. The website includes easy to access information about how to partner with the VA, understanding military culture, as well as tools for working with a variety of mental health difficulties.

  • National Institute of Corrections (NIC) Library

    If you are working with a justice-involved Veteran, NIC's vast, searchable library may help navigate co-occurring conditions. Their Webinars and Broadcasts may also be helpful, with titles such as "Understanding Veteran-Specific Resources."

  • Rocky Mountain MIRECC Multimedia

    The Rocky Mountain MIRECC for Veteran Suicide Prevention seeks to make TBI research and tools accessible via our multimedia. Visitors may easily view and/or search our visual abstract gallery and podcast series to find helpful info on TBI and related co-occurring conditions.

  • Make the Connection: Effects of Traumatic Brain Injury

    Explore these video stories of other Veterans living with traumatic brain injury. Veterans discuss their own experiences managing the effects of TBI, such as irritation, trouble concentrating and increased alcohol and drug use. The page also highlights treatment options and connecting with care.

  • Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA)

    Coaching into Care provides a free, confidential "coaching" service for family and friends of Veterans who see that their Veteran needs help. Coaching involves helping the caller figure out how to motivate their Veteran to seek services. The service is free and provided by licensed clinical social workers and psychologists. The goal of the service is to help the Veteran and family members find the appropriate services in their community. Call 888-823-7458.
