Free CE: SC MIRECC CBOC Mental Health Grand Rounds Archived Webinar Series
SC MIRECC National CBOC Mental Health Grand Rounds webinars provide continuing education (CE) training on evidence-based practices, research, and new issues in mental health to VA clinicians who work with rural and underserved Veterans. An archive of recorded webinars includes three trainings that can help clinicians increase their knowledge of mental health treatment at VA.
One hour of CE per training is available for physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and counselors (JA IPCE, ACCME, ANCC, APA, ASWB, NBCC, NYSED SW). Most webinars recorded in 2022-2023 also have ACPE for pharmacists. New webinars and recordings offer CRCC for rehabilitation counselors. A Veteran-guided Approach to Trauma Recovery: The Systematic Reduction of False Safety Aids

The purpose of this webinar is to familiarize VA staff with clinical resources available to assist Veterans with a patient-led approach to recovering from trauma and symptoms of post-traumatic stress. It will review common trauma-related symptoms, explain the concept of false safety aids as a maintaining factor of trauma-related symptoms, and introduce a protocol for assisting Veterans with systematically reducing their use of problematic safety aids.
Improving Access to Evidence-Based Psychotherapies: The MyBrief CBT Program

The purpose of this webinar is to discuss and identify solutions to challenges faced by providers in their efforts to deliver high quality, evidence-based psychotherapies (EBPs). The training will discuss EBP opportunities and challenges but will focus on a specific EBP program developed in VA to support providers in their efforts to address depression in Veterans.
Written Exposure Therapy: A Brief PTSD Treatment

The purpose of this live, knowledge-based training is to provide training in Written Exposure Therapy (WET), an evidence-based treatment for PTSD. It presents an overview of PTSD among rural veterans, the available treatments for PTSD, the written exposure therapy treatment protocol, empirical support for written exposure therapy, implementation efforts in VA, preparations, logistics, and other considerations, and how to deliver written exposure therapy via telemental health methods.
